Conner was born on July 4, 1998, in Wooster, Ohio, to Laura (Dalessandro) Chewning and Steven Schlauch. He grew up in the area and graduated from Triway High School in 2017 before continuing his education at Malone University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2023.

Those who knew Conner remembered him as someone with determination, strong values, and a deep commitment to the people and responsibilities that mattered most to him. His life reflected a dedication to personal growth, hard work, and serving others.

On August 9, 2024, Conner married Kassandra Marie “Kassie” Orr in Ashland. Their relationship was described as a loving partnership built on friendship, faith, and devotion. Kassie was not only his wife but also his closest companion, and together they shared the joy of raising their two sons.

Conner’s greatest source of pride and happiness was his family. He cherished his sons, Josiah Quinn Shaum of Apple Creek and Franklin Conner Schlauch, and was deeply committed to providing them with love, guidance, and support. Fatherhood was one of the most meaningful parts of his life.

A man of faith, Conner’s beliefs played an important role in shaping who he was. He was dedicated to his family, his work, and his community. For the past four years, he served with the City of Wooster Public Maintenance Department, where he contributed his skills and commitment to the community he called home.

Conner was also an entrepreneur who owned and operated Firestone Outdoor Solutions, a lawn care business, as well as Firestone Diesel, where he worked with diesel truck parts. His passion for trucks, cars, gardening, and traveling reflected his curiosity, creativity, and appreciation for life’s experiences.

Friends and family remembered Conner as someone who enjoyed sharing his talents with others. His strong work ethic, generosity, and willingness to help those around him made him a respected and appreciated presence among the people who knew him.

Conner is survived by his wife, Kassie; his sons, Josiah and Franklin; his mother, Laura (Matt) Chewning; his father, Steven Schlauch; siblings Maddie (Nick) Sparr and Camden (Francesca Fletcher) Schlauch; step-brother Mason Chewning; grandparents Joseph and Debbie Dalessandro and Harry Schlauch; along with many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Judy Schlauch.

Funeral services have been announced. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. at Wooster Church of the Nazarene, located at 3100 Oak Hill Road, Wooster. A funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m., with Pastor Jeremy Stasiowski officiating and Pastor Nate Ward leading worship.
